Macroecology – Tropical ecology of plant communities
Advisor: Catherine Hulshof, Ph.D., Department of Biology
My research centers on the community ecology of tropical dry forests in Central and South America. I focus on plant dispersal syndromes, specifically, the biotic and abiotic factors that drive the dominance of species dispersal syndromes across spatial and temporal scales. I aim to understand the differences in the dispersal mechanism between Caribbean, a limited-dispersal system, and continental dry forests
