Characterization and differentiation of forensically-relevant cell mixtures

Advisor: Christopher Ehrhardt, Ph.D., Department of Forensic Science

Our goal is to use imaging flow cytometry (IFC) as a front-end analysis method for biological sexual assault mixture samples. This research aims to demonstrate that the data collected from IFC may be used to differentiate and characterize different cell populations present in biological mixtures, and may also be used to predict DNA concentrations from forensic sample swabs.
